The latest issue of our “warum!” e-paper is all about security. After all, security shapes many aspects of our lives today—from digital infrastructures and economic processes to societal debates.

The new ePaper explores the topic from various perspectives: as a field of technological action, as a subject of research and teaching, and as a societal challenge. The articles demonstrate the diversity of the issues at hand and why it is increasingly important to consider technical, social, and organizational dimensions together. And it is precisely in this interdisciplinarity that FH Salzburg’s strength lies.
💡Topics in “warum!” include:
- Why we shouldn’t let machines take over our thinking: An interview with Katrin Rossmann (Department of Applied Social Sciences) on machine ethics and technology assessment broadens our perspective on new technologies.
- How university research secures digital infrastructures and what significance these topics will hold in the future. A focus on current developments in research and teaching at the Department of IT.
- Partners, Alumni & Founders: Guest commentator Robert Lamprecht, a cybersecurity expert at KPMG (and a graduate of the university), discusses current challenges that affect us all, as well as a startup that’s tackling these very issues with innovative solutions to security challenges.
- Is democracy in danger? Research projects at the Department of Applied Social Sciences and Creative Technologies highlight why security is also a societal issue and how it affects us all on a daily basis.
